Airport Transformation Underway
A substantial investment program is transforming Ardmore Municipal Airport into a stronger regional logistics asset. Projects include a modernized control tower, a new parallel taxiway, and expanded tri-modal rail capabilities. Local leaders describe the work as positioning the airport and the broader industrial airpark for long-term growth in aviation, manufacturing, and distribution.
The Industrial Airpark recently completed an $8.7 million water treatment plant that doubles wastewater capacity and improves environmental compliance. Officials note that reliable utility infrastructure is essential to attracting additional industrial users to the airpark.
Highway 70 Widening Preparation
The City of Ardmore is relocating water lines along U.S. Highway 70 between Fox Den Road and Interstate 35 to clear the way for a planned Oklahoma Department of Transportation widening project. The roughly $2.4 million utility relocation is being funded through a cost-share arrangement, with the city covering the majority. Once complete, ODOT will reconstruct the corridor as a four-lane divided highway with improved turning lanes and signalization.
Downtown Loan-to-Grant Program Launched
The Ardmore Development Authority and the City of Ardmore have announced the first recipients of a new Downtown Loan to Grant Program. The initiative is designed to encourage private investment, business development, and revitalization in the historic downtown district by providing financial support that can convert to grants when performance criteria are met.
Ardmore continues to market its industrial parks, Foreign Trade Zone status, and central location between Oklahoma City and the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex as competitive advantages for logistics, manufacturing, and distribution companies.
